frequently asked questions FAQ

Cervical traction is a treatment that physical therapists use to stretch out the upper spine to decrease pressure and increase blood flow, circulation, and the spread of nutrients through the body.

Typically, cervical traction requires patients to visit a physical therapist, where they either receive treatment in the form of a massage or are secured in a harness attached to a large machine that controls pressure. MY Day Head Hammock makes it possible to experience cervical traction relief without even leaving the house. And unlike competing home cervical traction devices, MY DAY Head Hammock is made of high-quality materials to help the neck achieve the perfect position.

While MY DAY Head Hammock employs similar cervical traction methods to those used by professionals, patients suffering from neck and back pain should use the hammock only as a supplement to proper physical therapy.

Every person’s body is different, so how long and frequent MY DAY Head Hammock sessions will vary from one individual to the next. Some people might need 10 minutes a day, while others will require two or three 15-minute daily sessions. We recommend starting with 10 minutes for your first use and experimenting from there, being careful to adhere to a maximum of 15 minutes per session, and allowing at least 4 hours of break time between uses.

While you may feel the positive effects of MY DAY Head Hammock in as little as one use, you should continue using it, even if your neck immediately feels better. Although you will need to use the hammock less frequently over time, it still needs to be used regularly to maintain good spinal health and posture for the long term.
